The lock on my storage unit was broken off and several irreplaceable items were taken over 2 weeks ago. I went to my unit yesterday to find that a new lock had been placed on it and was unable to access my belongings. Kilgore Avenue Storage management failed to inform me of the theft and the fact that several other units had also been broken into. I called the owner, who quickly turned rude and blamed the theft on our lock (which had been purchased from a storage unit facility and had been used for nearly 2 years without any security issues). Although the facility has a security gate with code access, the back and sides of the complex are either completely unfenced, or secured by a half-broken 4 foot tall chainlinked fence. I would highly advise that anyone seeking a safe storage space and respectable customer service go elsewhere.
