The food was delicious. The main dining area is nice and well lit but the secondary seating is more cafe style. The wait was a bit long for the food but not unbearable.
The service was really good, but the wait for the food was forever. We waited almost 50 minutes to get our food. That would be ok if the food was better. I got the 2x2x2x2 and the bacon and sausage was good. The eggs tasted really weird, and the pancakes were really small. And it wasn’t all the filling. Needless to say, I might go back and try something else in the future. But as for this experience, 3/5 stars.
2nd visit for breakfast today, potatoes were cold. Eggs barely warm. Not sure I’ll go back. I think they could use some help in the kitchen. A cute place with great food choices. I just hate paying for cold food.
I went during the first week of Red Apple Cafe being open and the only concerns I had were very clearly related to training and would hopefully resolve themselves over time and getting into the groove. Service was generally friendly, but I did have to ask a couple of times for things that are typically not forgotten by the server. I never saw a manager walking the floor to check on things and, for the first week especially, I would have expected that. Food was decent diner-style food (they did an excellent job of crisping the corned beef hash!) and the place was clean. I'll pop back by again to give it another go and see how they've improved since that first week!
The place was clean enough. Has breakfast there this morning. Didn't care much for the little handle on the coffee cup. Waiter gave us poor service. The others seemed to be doing a good job. I asked for cheddar cheese on my omelette and got American cheese. I like my ingredients in the fold of the omellete not cooked into the egg where all the ingredients are showing through the egg. Bacon was cooked on one half and not the other. Hostess seemed very pleasant. I asked her if I could give the waiter a minus tip. I am usually pretty generous with tipping. Often leaving 10.00 for a bill of 19.00.
