Went to their very first Sunday brunch. I asked Jon (a really attentive server w/o being hovery) if there was anything without dairy on the menu (allergy) fully expecting that I might have a brunch of beer. He was super chill about it and asked the kitchen. They didn’t, but he said the kitchen would make something off menu for me and suggested something like a breakfast sandwich, which sounded great: egg, spinach, ham, and a truffle aioli on a pretzel bun. It was a little greasy, but really delicious. I’ve liked ES in the past, but I was SO impressed with the way they handled my food restriction!
I NEVER leave reviews, but i feel inclined after this experience. Honestly the worst service i have ever encountered. One side appeared to have great service and the other side had one waiter. We waited 1.5 hours for food and the first dish out was ice cold brisket and fries. We saw one table get seated, eat, and leave before our food order was taken. Our hummus appetizer came out with the main courses. I did not get my meal until 20 min. after everyone else was served. One order was wrong and drinks took 30 min to be filled each time. We started ordering drinks and paying at the bar, rather than waiting for our nonexistent waiter. Could be great, but was awful for us and our out of town friends. I was embarrassed to have recommended the place. The manager made excuses rather than make things right. He blamed it all on their pizza oven having a low capacity (even though the drinks took 30 minutes to fill and have nothing to do with a pizza oven). If that is the case, get another oven, or stop serving pizza. Our table of 10 only ordered 2 pizzas. There are much better run places in muncie that I will give my business to until Elm St. can get their act together. Beer is good though and they have a good selection.
I have enjoyed many visits to Elm St Brewing. There is a large selection of various craft beers, wine for those non beer drinkers, and scrumptious food. I have enjoyed the brisket sandwich, the house cut fries are to die for, and delicious brick oven pizza. The live music was very good!
Absolutely phenomenal brewery. I'm originally from the area and was visiting family when I tried Elm Street, but I live in NC. We have some of the very best breweries in the Nation in and around Raleigh, and I can tell you, if you haven't tried Elm Street, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to their in-house brewed beers and their pizza. I had the 3 Lil Pigs pizza and Elm Street Stout beer. Can't say enough good things about them! Great service as well! Seriously, go and try them out!
I have eaten and drank in many countries, cities, and states including New York City, Dubai, and Seattle. I can say without a doubt at all, that Elm Street brewery serves better beer, pizza, and wings than any place I’ve ever been. Thank you for opening my eyes to a place that exists in a small town that I thought I’d never find good food, much less my experience tonight.
